Greetings Christmas Bird Counters:I’m Dan Donaldson, the organizer for this year’s Blackbrook Audubon Christmas Bird Count which will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
This year’s count will run pretty much the same as last year, but hopefully with less wind and snow. The CBC starts at sunrise for most folks and you can bird until whatever time you wish. We will be posting updated maps and more information in the days to come, but for now, if you are interested in participating again this year, please email me with your full name(s), phone number, the area you are interested in birding and if you have a regular spot. I’ll be putting maps and groups together as people respond. We do need a designated counter for each area and they need to be willing to meet up and coordinate with others that are interested in birding that location. Please feel free to pass my information along to others you think may be interested in participating this year. You can contact me anytime but please be sure to put CBC in the subject line of any emails. Thanks! This helps me keep all of the information organized. Dan Donaldson Danook057@yahoo.com |

Like last year, we will use the google map process that ABA developed for the CBC. This way everybody will be able to have a map on their phone and also be able to see who is birding which area.
The CBC areas are listed here with the primary leaders that have signed on so far. We still need coverage in several areas, as you can see. Big Creek Girdled Rd Leroy Twp Hell Hollow, Hidden Lake Holden Arboretum Little Mountain Area North Mentor Mentor Lagoons Mentor Marsh, Kerven/Zimmerman Fairport Lake Erie Bluffs Quail Hollow Kirtland West (Pen Glen) Thanks and I hope to see you at the Count. Please, feel free to email me any questions or comments. Dan Donaldson Danook057@yahoo.com |
